Fused l3-s1. severe hypertrophy of facets at l5-s1. recently very painful. pain doc says joints locking from mvmt. how could this be? is it possible? what can be done? i do not want steroid injections, historically they have done nothing. what else??

Consult spine expert: You need to consult a spine specialist to see if anything can be done about your problem. It is not unusual for the other part of the spine to shift position when part of it is fused.
