Rest: Training should be fatiguing, so rest is a very important part of recovery. So is great nutrition, and plenty of fluids. Get enough sleep. Stretching after workouts important. Get a coach to design workouts for you that make sense for your body, keep things interesting, and are varied.

Listen to your body : Be sure you stay hydrated before, during & after exercise. Havea protein & carbohydrate (1:4 ratio) snack within 30 mins after w/o. Some people use skim or low fat chocolate milk. Be sure you get enough salt & potassium. Do a good cool down, incl. Stretching. Consider using a heart rate monitor. Check your am resting heart rate. If high, do an easier workout that day. Finally, get plenty of sleep!
