Heart/TMJ/Fillings: The most dangerous item is the pain in the jugular vein upon exercise . Check with your a medical doctor and have your heart checked. It sounds as if you may have tmj. Get fitted for an occlusal guard. There is a muscle called the sternocleidomastoid . The sternocleidomastoid passes obliquely across the side of the neck. This may be related. If you have silver/ mercury fillings have them checked.

Seek Help Soon: Both subclavian steal syndrome ANS subclavian vein syndrome can present this way. Both easily treatable but can cause significant morbidity if complications occur prior to treatment. Do seek evaluation by a vascular surgeon asap.

Pagett-Schroetter: Subclavian steal is an arterial phenomenon and does not present this way. Axillo subclavian vein thrombosis may present in this manner. This is called Pagett Schroetter syndrome. The latter occurs in young athletes. I can't explain the metallic taste in your mouth.
