If you want a more potent pain medication, discuss this would your doctor so that you have a clear understanding about the indication and the specific risks and benefits.

Discuss with doctor.: It is likely that this should suffice. However if worried discuss other options. You need to drink a lot of fluids, and have up to date medication. If worried discuss postponing trip if can and deal with the stone with a urologist.
