May not: Be cardiac. But it could also be "prinzmetal's angina" = the vessels are fine until they go into spasm. If this s is correct, a calcium channel blocker medicine trial (examples are ditiazem, verapamil, amlodipine) may clear this up. Other thoughts are esophageal spasm. NeitherforChestPain: Neither test for chest pain. "stress test", all modalities, at best, detect marked narrowing of heart arteries, ie. Quite advanced ds. Heart cath only sees lumens (ie. Dye in blood in artery openings); atherosclerosis is within artery walls, not the openings. Likely: 1. Looking wrong place due to assumptions & insurance, 2. Syndrome x with artery spasms &/or 3. Distal ds not visible on angiograms.
