Go back to MD; try:: First, get in touch with your physician to see if there are other specific medical interventions. There is a growing problem with pertussis infection in america (whooping cough) where coughing goes on and on. This is treated with a specific antibiotic. Your md will also check for asthma type cough with responds to specific treatment. Home remedies: tea with lemon /honey, throat lozenges help.

Kids sick: Be sure the children are healthy otherwise and do not have conditions e.g. Allergies or something lowering their immunity system. Have a healthy diet, with lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and wild salmon and sardines, nuts. Be sure they are not esposed to smoke or other chemical irritants. Give vitamins especially vitamin D3 in significant doses (check with your doctor).

May be normal: After you have pneumonia, it is common to cough for several weeks, it is your bodys way to cleans out the lungs and mobilize secretions and debris. Depending on your childrens afes there are some cough remedies made with honey, but never give honey to a child younger than a year old because of the risk of botulism. Try some eucalyptus essential oil, a couple of drops in a humidifier at night.
