Meds/mouth breathing: -salivary gland blockage due to small stones. -many medications cause dry mouth. Check medication side effects. -use rinses without alcohol which can dry the mouth. -sleep airway problems often cause more mouth breathing. At night, our saliva flow drops to about 20% of day-time flow. Nasal congestion may cause more mouth breathing leading to dry mouth. Do you snore? -see your dentist.
