Medications: The first place to look is if you are taking any medications. Many medications do cause dry mouth as do hormonal changes. The more meds you are on, even if stated side effects do not include dry mouth, do compound the issue of dry mouth which secondarily often leads to an increase in dental cavities.

If you have not had: If you have not had minor salivary gland, you may want to have one through ENT doctor to confirm whether you have sjogren's or not. The biopsy can confirm it on occasion when labwork is negative. There are other conditions that can associated with this such sarcoidosis, etc. If you have seen not a rheumatologist, you may want to consider seeing one as well.
