I hurt my ankle and it's really swollen. how can i get the swelling down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

P.R.I.C.E: (protect) ankle brace, rest, ice, compression, elevate. Antiinflammatories such as aleve (naproxen) will reduce swelling if you are not taking Aspirin or have stomach issues with nsaids. Severe pain or pain lasting more than 48 hours should be evaluated for fractures or ligament tear. See a podiatrist.
