Ultrasound: An ultrasound can show signs of inflamation such at fluid around the gallbladder or thickening of the gallbladder wall. But an ultrasound can also be normal and you can still have an inflammed gallbladder. A doctor would listen to your story, combine that story with labs, and an ultrasound to determine if you have an inflamed gallbladder or if other studies are needed.
