See your dentist: Swelling ususllay means an infection. It is hard to say weather this is just in you gums or if your tooth is abcessed. But in either case you should see your dentist for this as soon as you can. It will not get better without treatment.

Abscess: It is most likely an abscess. But can be other things. See a dentist for a definitive diagnosis asap. Untreated dental infections can be deadly.

Infection: Could be a tooth abscess- the nerve in the tooth can die from infection or trauma, and may require root canal treatment. Could also be a periodontal(or gum) abscess, not related to the tooth. See your dentist for a proper diagnosis....
