Yes: The infected fluids from an abscess may travel along lines or spaces of least resistance. The antibiotics should help within 48 hours. If not, and things progress, go see a dentist to sort out the specific problem and perhaps a different antibiotic. An er doctor is really ill equipped to diagnose the specific dental origin, so seeing the dentist is a better choice.
