It depends.: Many of the the ssri medications are very effective for panic disorder. See a psychiatrist who can help clarify your symptoms and together make the best choice for you.

All the drugs in the: Class can help. Zoloft (sertraline) often the first choice but you may try others with your doc. Definitely individual variation.

Sertraline: All the ssris are similar and yet different. Even if you have tried most of them, sadly without much success, it makes sense to systematically try then all. Acutely, of course, they are not effective, so you should probably consider a short-acting benzodiazepine for that use. Good luck!

SSRIs for Panic: My choice, from experience, would be zoloft (sertraline) for females & Celexa for males. Of course there is no ground rule, since different people respond differently.
