Not really: A sunburn is just that...A burn. Most are first or second degree and should be treated the same way. The pain and heat will subside over the next few days along with the redness. One "trick" to minimize peeling and discomfort is to hyper moisturize with any heavy moisturizer...My go to product for this is skin medica's ceramide treatment.

Helpful tip: I agree with dr. Sanders. Not over night but.... Aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) can reduce redness, pain, itching & swelling from a burn. It has anesthetic, anti-inflammatory & antibacterial / antifungal qualities. It can speed burn healing by stimulating growth of new skin. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and acetomenophen can be very helpful. Hydrate well and don't peel off any deep layers.
