Different animals: Sun burn is when the skin is injured due to radiation from the sun. This causes injury which makes the body react by creating inflammation (red, hot swollen and tender) of the skin and soft tissues which is fresh healing blood getting to the area. The other is when the sun's radiation causes systemic affects such as dehydration, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, weak pulse, low blood pressure.
