No more bleeding.: Hysterectomy means the removal of the uterus. After a hysterectomy, a woman has no more periods. If a woman's ovaries are removed as well, that surgery would be called a "total abdominal (or vaginal) hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy." if ovaries are left in, the woman may continue to experience cyclic hormonal symptoms - just no bleeding.
