Could but: Pain medication slows down bowel function after surgery. If you are passing gas then this is a good sign that things are ok. You could start with Miralax (polyethylene glycol) or Milk of Magnesia. Also increase your walking and movement as well as water intake. If you start having vomiting or stop passing gas then seek medical attention.
