Bruxism: Don't worry! schedule an appointment with your dentist to discuss your clenching habit. Bruxism may be caused by your occlusion, stress, or your muscles of mastication (to name a few).

Absolutely: You probably have bruised the ligament that wraps around the tooth root. See your dentist to see if this needs to be adjusted so it can heal. Also you might need to be on antiinflammatories fro 7 days. And, see about a night guard to protect these teeth of yours. Also, consider therapist for stress management techniques, to address the etiology of the clenching.

Yes: Did you have any dental work recently in the area you described? See a dentist to check if your bite is even and if you grind or clench your teeth. Your dentist may recommend a mouth guard.
