Gum disease: Can't tell without an exam, but if you feel the gingival tissue has pulled back to the point that your teeth are about to come out, then it is probably periodontitis. See your dentist for an exam and a prognosis.

It leads to loss of bone that supports teeth, and gums may also shrink. It is likely to lead to tooth loss, so see your dentist as soon as possible.
