My fna biopsy showed papillary thyroid cancer. the left andright nodules are 5mm and 7mm. a us of left nodule shows likely capsular invasion. can metastasis happen?

Yes: Thyroid cancers are curable most of the time papillary cancers are common do metastasize to adjacent nodes, could be multi centric as in this case see your doctor for treatment , have good prognosis than other types.

Common: Papillary thyroid cancers commonly metastasize to neck lymph nodes, but these tend to be less significant than they are for other types of cancer. Papillary thyroid cancer, with or without meatastasis, has an excellent prognosis with proper surgical treatment.

Yes it can: It can metastasize to the adjacent lymph nodes. However, it is curable with a proper surgical resection that should remove the thyroid as well as lymph nodes dissection. Pappilary thyroid cancer in general has favorable prognosis as long as you receive proper treatment. You will need to see an experienced ENT doctor who specialized in head and neck cancer. Good luck for your surgery.
