Two nodules, 1.9 and 1.8 CM on left thyroid lobe. 1st nodule is benign follicular. 2nd is abundant benign appearing follicular epithelial cells, hemosiderin-laden macrophages & colloid noted. Cancer?
Left thyroid nodule (2.5). FNA Cytology shows cellular follicular lesion suggestive of neoplasm, oncocytic type. Then further Afirma testing shows Bethesda IV and Benign. Dr says not cancer. Is the Afirma accurate? Should I be worried?
1st 2.4cm solid/cystic complex thyroid nodule fNA was FLUs. 2nd biopsy non diagnostic insufficient follicular cells or colloid. Do I need a third fNA?
I have a 4cm benign (per FNA) follicular thyroid nodule. Nodule is not easily palpated. I have difficulty swallowing that is causing choking. Remove or wait 6 months? Is the chance of the FNA missing follicular cancer high enough to influence?
