Sprain PTT: The area being tender is probably the posterior tibial tendon on the medial part of the ankle. It can get sore independently or after a sprain. For this tendon problem i would recommend an arch support in a supportive tennis shoe and this rehab program: http://orthoinfo.Aaos.Org/pdfs/rehab_foot_and_ankle_4.Pdf achilles stretching is very important.

Many possibilities: Possible cause of your pain may include sprain, bursitis, fracture, contusion, neuritis, but of course there are a multitude of other possibilities. Get the feet inspected by a professional to determine the cause of the problem, as treatment varies depending on the diagnosis.
