Further testing: You may need further testing such as an MRI to determine if there is other pathology associated iwith a chronically sprained ankle. It is more than likely to heal with proper treatment but depends on full pathology and scope of injury. I f you need a referral or a second opinion, i know some doctors in your area. Good luck.

Ankle Sprain Healing: Statistically, 10% of all ankle sprains have some residual problem after one year. This can be muscle weakness, ligament instability, missed bone injuries, stiffness, etc. Most of these problems are minor, but not if you are getting some disability. Have it checked out by a podiatrist or orthopedist. Hopefully, the cure is quite simple. Dr rich blake.
