It depends..........: If there is no problem with the crown or the underlying tooth, the procedure should be short, perhaps 15 minutes or so just to examine the tooth, see an x-ray, clean everything up and cement the crown back. However, one needs to determine why the crown came off in the first place and what alternatives are available with that in mind.

Not very long: If your crown is in good shape then it takes only a very short amount of time for your dentist to clean out the crown and recement it. Your dentist will evaluate the crown and make certain that there are no problems with it before cementing it. If there is decay in the tooth or the tooth is broken then you may need a new crown. You dentist will let you know.
