A member asked:

Dentist told me to take 2 advil & 2 reg strength tylenol at same time 3 times every 4 hour after a root canal, seems like a lot of meds,is this safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sounds like a lot: Two regular strength Advil and two regular strength Tylenol, 3 times, would equal 6 Advil and 6 Tylenol. That would mean 12 pills every 4 hours, or 72 pills every day. Maybe the dentist's instructions are confusing the patient. Best for the patient to call the dentist and verify how to take the pain-relief medication.
