Shape/color: Veneers usually require about half a millimeter of enamel to be removed from the front of the tooth, and sometimes (but not always) 1-2mm from the incisal edge. Porcelain is then bonded to these surfaces and can be used to reinforce chipped teeth or change the size/shape/color/position of the teeth they are bonded to.

Cover them.: Veneers cover the front (outside) of teeth. They can improve color, shape & contour, hide defects, and protect teeth. Depending on the type of veneers you choose and the way your teeth come together you may have minimal to significant modification of your teeth. Talk with your dentist to review options and considerations specific to your choice for treatment.

Hmmmm..: Veneers are bonded to the teeth. While some tooth structure in removed to create a good result there should be minimal damage. Even when done well veneers may need to be replaced in 10-20 years; dental restorations are not thought to last a lifetime. Veneers are used to reshape and whiten teeth, to close gaps, to lengthen teeth, to recreate smiles, among other things.
