Strep throat: At age 23 it is less likely, but the major risk to not treating strep throat is the development of post-streptococcal complications like acute rheumatic fever, and rarely (more assoc with skin lesions) glomerulonephritis. Be alert for any signs and symptoms which you find unusual.
