You : You may be dealing with seasonal allergies with post nasal drip. When you are exposed to allergens you get an increase in mucous production. This mucous can drip from your nose down into your throat. This causes throat irritation, pain, redness, and even itching. Start by taking a daily anti-histamine like Claritin or alavert. Also Benadryl can be taken, in addition Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain. If you do not notice an improvement after a week or two, see your doctor. Take care.
