Sore throat: A sore throat for 3 weeks is not typical, but it could be strep throat. You included the history that you're a smoker so the best thing that you could do for yourself is to stop smoking and see your doctor soon. Your sore throat could be caused by a viral infection or cancer but only your doctor can tell the difference. Good luck.
