Splint: You can "buddy-splint" the toe by taping it to the adjoining toe, this will stabilize it and decrease the discomfort while the fracture is healing.

"Buddy" splinting: Simply tape the fifth toe to the fourth to help maintain some stability around the fracture site. Compression, rest and ice may help as well. If it were me, i would also add aleve (naproxen) twice a day for the next couple weeks.

Tape the toe : If the toe is in proper alignment tape that toe to the next toe putting cotton or a spacer in between the toes. Continue to tape the toes for 3 weeks.
