Depends: There is no set time when the pain stops after dental extractions. If the tooth was a surgical extraction where the gum had to be pushed back and the surrounding bone contoured, there is generally minor pain and minor swelling for 2-3 days. If it has been 3 days and the pain is not getting any better you should consult with your dentist.

Many variables: Unfortunately, every case is different. The more difficult the extractions, the more likely discomfort will linger, along with individual variance with pain threshold and recuperative powers. I tell my patients, whether it is a simple extraction or a severe impaction, the pain usually starts to subside by the end of the following day. Discuss pain medication with your dentist. Follow directions.
