7-10 days: If no pain for 7-10 days then you are probably ok if you do not do things that would irritate the area - like smoking.

3 to 5 dyas: A "dry socket" is a breakdown of the clot at the surgical site several days after surgery. If 5 days goes by and you feel fine, i wouldn't worry about it.
