Starburst: The decision to consider lasik or prk would depend on if the patient is happy with the quality of vision with glasses or contacts. As long as the patient realizes that the laser eye surgery can correct their prescription and not the starbursts, then the surgery can be considered.

Possibly: Customvue lasik is designed to treat higher order aberration, but there are limits. Some patients still have starbursting after surgery, but many patients have improvement due to reduction of their aberrations. The goal of surgery should not be to decrease the starbursting, but rather to improve vision without glasses. Anything else is a bonus. http://www.2020vision.com/procedures_lasik.html.

Depends: Necessary diagnostic testing is necessary to decide which would be the safest procedure to undergo. Prk would be safer, but at the same time other factors are important like knowing corneal thickness.
