Prk vs lasik: Prk is safer than lasik as there is no cutting so you can get prk if you can't get lasik, like if you have thin corneas, high rx, irreg astimatism lasek is the more advanced form of prk, that has all the safety advantages of prk with the rapid recovery and painlessness of lasek that's why i switched from lasik to lasek in 2007 dont get a prk in 2012 it's an archaic way to perform surface ablation.

Depends: No one can tell you that one procedure is better for everyone than another. When i consult with a patient, i look at the physical characteristics of their eyes and discuss their goals. Then i explain which procedure i think is a better fit for them but ultimately the decision is theirs. Speak to an experienced refractive surgeon.

Prk vs lasik: There was a conference where ophthalmologists were first asked which procedure they performed most; 90% said lasik. When asked what they would have if they were to have one, 90% said prk. I tell patients this story. 90% of surgical complications are flap related (lasik). And, #1 postop issue is dry eye (more common w lasik than prk). There is more pain and slow recovery but i would have prk.
