Father 90, in hospice, buccal mucosa cancer, can not take orally and pleads not to give him iv nutrition, advise what to do in the light of all ethics?

Hospice: If he is in hospice, it means you have accepted a way of taking care of him that is least invasive. You can not make someone eat or drink, you can not force them. They are not in hospice for IV therapy. Hospice means you care for them and support them in their wishes.

Ethics: Your father, of sound mind and body, gets to call the shots; you, as the power of attorney for medical decisions (presumed), should abide by his wishes. Use a counsellor from the hospice to work through the issues and options so that there is a clear understanding for everyone.
