Tough question: As our family members get older questions on how aggressive do we treat medical issues come up - my family, too. I've found often the easiest way to answer it is to ask, "how would my dad or mom want to handle this?" you often know the patient better than the doctor. Don't make the decision you want but what they would want. Our desires often cloud the issue. There's no right or wrong choice.

Hospice: At this age, with history of dementia and large tumor, hospice would be the best option for him. You have to outweigh risk of surgery, anesthesia as well at his age.
