White vinegar: We recommend a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. The vinegar is acid, the tarter accumulation on your retainers is basic. The vinegar softens the tarter and you can then brush it off with your toothbrush. It may take several applications to clean them up completely.

Toothbrush: Toothbrush and toothpaste is best. If you need to disinfect it, then 1/4 bleach 3/4 water for 30 minutes. Then rinse it very well.

Soap: A non-abrasive kind. Problem with toothpaste is it can scratch them. Just rinse well after using soap and you wont taste the soap.

Use a toothbrush: Brush the retainers with your tooth brush: the teeth and the plastic gums area. You can soak them in mouth wash for a few minutes to keep them clean.

Here's how: Rinse them off every time after eating. Use a soft toothbrush and toothpaste (not whitening or abrasive kind) every night. You can also soak them in listerine and\or a denture cleanser every so often as necessary.

Soak them: Non abrasive cleaners are ideal. Soaking is the least abrasive, to avoid scratching them and increasing the odds to developing build up on them.

Excellent question: Rinse them off after every meal/snack. Gently brush them 2x/day w toothbrush and, if you prefer, soap...it will rinse off...top and bottom, metal and plastic. Don't use toothpaste as it will dull plastic. Use Denture Cleaning Tablets daily, follow the package directions. NEVER heat or boil your retainers...the heat will warp the plastic. Remember, retainers only work when they are worn.
