Both: You can get retainers at either a gp dentist or an orthodontist. Usually, a retainer is part of the treatment package. If your sitation is minor and then perhaps your gp will make it for you. Otherwise, the specialist (orthodontist) is the way to go. But....In many states...A gp can also do tooth straightening.
