Problem specific: Dentists will sometimes need to take dental x-rays, jaw x-rays, skull x-rays to do a complete examination or to provide detail of a specific problem. They are used to identify, diagnose, treat, or rule out pathology. Although all radiation is cumulative, dental x-rays are extremely low dose.
