A member asked:

Why would a person's tongue be yellow? could it be leukoplakia?

No.: Leukoplakia literally translates as "white plaque", so yellow tongue does not fit the definition. More commonly, yellowing of the tongue is due to either staining from food dyes or other colorants, or accumulation of debris from elongation of the many tiny bumps on the dorsum of the tongue (the filiform papillae). Management involves avoidance of food dyes and brushing or scraping of the tongue.

Probably not: If it scrapes off it is probably plaque... If not see a dentist for a evaluation..
