A member asked:

A recent mri shows i have a disc thats popping out between l4-l5 left lateralizing 5 mm disc protrusion/herniation. ive been having pain for 1+ year on the left leg when im standing for long period. is cortisone a good idea as my doc has mentioned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: This is low risk treatment which generally works well to control the inflammation which is causing your symptoms. Ask your doc for ergonomic tips to avoid aggravating your disc situation such as squat lifting, no lift/twist, adequate water to avoid straining at stool, and regular anti inflammatories Like curcumin which can used in a regular basis to help control inflammation.
