NSAIDs : Nsaids such as advil (ibuprofen) or motrin, if you can take them, tend to work the best but go see a dentist asap.

Not very much: If your toothache is very bad, it means your problem is becoming critical. The nerve in the tooth is inflammed to the point that it requires immediate attention. Please call your dentist asap.

A trip to dentist: The best thing to do is to take a trip to see a dentist. You may have severe tooth infections that can spread into your throat and suffocate you when sleeping. You may require antibiotics and stronger pain medications that need to be prescribed by a dentist/physician. Otc drugs that work the best are nsaids like aspirin, ibuprofen, ketoprofen, naproxen, etc, if your not allergic.
