Dental appointment: See your dentist for a dental examination to determine the cause and treat your dental discomfort. The dentist will prescribe pain medication if needed in addition. The pain will only be masked by self prescribing pain medication without treatment and the outcome would only be transient.

Pain Meds: The most common cause of toothache is infection. Second most common is fracture often with secondary infection. Pain Meds will not cure infection, just mask symptoms as infection spreads to other organ systems. Please see your Dentist ASAP to determine cause of toothache and appropriate treatment.
