No: Different appliances are designed to do different things. Speak to your orthodontist about what can be fabricated for you.

If you have narrow: Arches, an orthopedic appliance (e.g. Sagittal) will help expand and shape the arches and can result in a broad beautiful smile when finished with braces to align and level the dentition. It is a case to case basis among young and adults.
