Indirectly: You probably have 'crepitus'. That is noise caused by the disc located in the jaw joint (the tmj). That can be caused by a malocclusion and if you have a crossbite, you probably have a malocclusion. Consult a dentist for a referral to an orhtodontist.

Possibly: Cracking in the ear when you chew may be crepitus, degeneration of the cartelagenous disc in the jaw joint. Often malocclusion (including cross bite) can play a major part in jaw joint (TMJ) damage. Please see an occlusion expert, andorthodontist, for evaluation.
