Yes!!! : Lung nodules are checked every 6 months for 2 years. If they dont change in size, they are considered stable, and annual cxr is in order. If it grows, it could be malignant. 6 mm to 1.2 cm is a lot of change, so see your primary care doctor for a pulmonary consultation.

Yes: And many would simply resect it to find out. A pet scan could help you temporize or fuel the effort for resection. You did not ention whether you smoke, or why you got the initial scan when you were 48.
