Viral Cause?: If you have already been started on antibiotics, and are not receiving any benefit, you may have a virus. Try tylenol (acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen for aches and pains, salt water gargles for sore throat, honey as a good cough medication, and a decongestant like Pseudoephedrine to improve symptoms.
