Z-paks: Are great for upper respiratory infections, however, there can be resistant strains or some mixed species infections that need a different antibiotic or longer course. It is also helpful to simultaneously use a nasal decongestant to help promote sinus drainage. Additionally, concomitant sinus pathology contributing to more serious infections and recurrent infections can exist. Best to see ent.
