What are some permanent facelifting solutions?

Nothing is permanent: Great results are a combo of surgically tightening the muscles, trimming away extra skin & fat, using lasers or chemicals to restore texture & tone & re-volumizing with fat or long lasting fillers like artefill. The "best" surgical lift, by the most "gifted" surgeon on a patient with "great" genes, loses ~10% of it's value/year due to loss of 1-2 teaspoons/year of facial bone/muscle/fat etc.

Permanent facelift: There is no such thing as permanent cosmetic surgery. Despite our best attempts to avoid aging, even with surgery the body continues to age. It's best to avoid sun damage & engage in good skin care early in life. In addition to facelift & laser skin resurfacing, I use fat grafting to the face to restore a youthful volume. Fat that survives the transfer is permanent vs. Fillers that are absorbed.

Surgery : If you are a good candidate for a classical facelift, short scar face lift or any other surgical techniques, that would be your durable solution. ( you cannot stop the clock from turning). Other solutions using threads or other more non invasive techniques will not have a surgical effect, both aesthetically and durability.

Permanent Facelift: The results of a facelift turns back the hands of time permanently but does not stop the aging clock! if one identical twin had a facelift and all other factors were the same that person would always be the younger twin.

Surgery: There are numerous types of and techniques for lifting the face. The best approach depends on the type and severity of aging. However, the only effective facelift requires surgery allowing removal of some skin, tightening of the deeper facial tissue and repositioning of the facial tissues. The "non-surgical" facelift is not ready for primetime.

None: No facelift is permanent. I tell patients that a facelift should last 5-10 years, but the longevity in an individual patient is impossible to predict, because gravity and the aging process never quit.

Clock keeps ticking.: As a professor said...." We can turn back the hands of time, but the clock keeps ticking". Any facelift is permanent in its surgical effects on the face but the age continues to age and effects both treated and untreated areas.

Facelift alternative: A facelift rejuvenates the face by repostitioning sagging tissues and removing excessive skin. While resurfacing procedures can tighten and improve the skin, and ultrasound procedures can tighten the underlying tissues, and injectable fillers can volumize the face, none of these procedures can accomplish what a surgical facelift does. Depends: You will always look 8-10 years younger after a facelift, but you will continue the aging process after the facelift is done. Depending on your sun damage, genetics, and stress; you will have a different rate of aging as other people. Hope this helps.
