A member asked:

Is xray necessary for level 1 concussion, especially when pain/stiffness occurs on the right side of the neck?

Neck pain and x-ray: X-ray is usually ordered if there has been a loss of consciousness or if there are any neurological findings such as numbness or weakness. Neck stiffness is usually a side effect of the injury and gets better on its own or sometimes it might require over-the-counter pain killers.

Maybe: X-ray would not help with a concussion, but if there is a concern of a neck injury along with the concussion a x-ray of the cervical spine maybe be warranted.
